About Us

The ACT Government Solicitor (ACTGS) has approximately 148 employees, comprising 95 lawyers and 53 support, corporate and executive staff.

All ACTGS staff are bound by the ACT Public Service Code of Conduct within the Public Sector Management Act 1994 and all lawyers are bound by professional obligations.

Lawyers

As the ACT Government's largest employer of lawyers, the range of practice areas provides exciting career opportunities and potential for advancement.

Paralegals

The ACTGS employs paralegals to support the delivery of our legal services. These positions involve everything ranging from providing clerical and paralegal support to lawyers to conducting more complex legal research and drafting as graduate lawyers, not yet admitted to practice. As a member of our team you will have excellent opportunities for personal development and advancement.

Legal Support

Our legal practice groups are also supported by legal support staff. The typical work in legal support includes providing secretarial and clerical support to lawyers.
